BTC Whale Activity Hit a Frenzy Today. Coinbase Took Almost All of It.

Where would you rather park a nine-figure Bitcoin position right now - the exchange bleeding a billion and a half in stables, or the one absorbing the day's heavy crypto flow?

That's the question 106 large BTC moves force today. The number grabs attention. The breakdown between venues is where the answer sits.

$1.30B
BTC moved in 106 large transfers
July 10, 2026 · rapid sequence

BTC looks balanced in aggregate: $583M onto exchanges, $562M off. Net barely positive. But the aggregate in crypto is often a liar. Split by exchange and the picture snaps into something sharper.

BTC flow by exchange · July 10
Coinbase$59.96M inflow (largest single BTC move)
Coinbase$64.69M inflow (second-largest BTC move)
Coinbase$64.15M inflow (third-largest BTC move)
Binance$6.17M inflow (only material BTC move)
BTC's top individual transfers all landed on one venue

Three of the day's four largest Bitcoin transfers - $59.96M, $64.69M, and $64.15M - all hit Coinbase. Three fat inbound transactions from three different counterparties. Nearly $189M in BTC walking onto one exchange in three moves. Binance, the day's most active venue overall, saw a single $6.17M BTC inflow. The difference is not subtle.

Now zoom out and look at what else each exchange is doing.

Binance posted $2.72B in total flow across 157 transfers. But $890M in, $1.83B out. Net outflow: nearly $940M. It's not Bitcoin. It's stablecoins. A single $200M USDT transfer landed on Binance from one wallet. Two more - $79.14M and $68.63M - left it, both routed through the same counterparty. In the stablecoin lane, Binance is a turnstile. That's liquidity management, not positioning.

Coinbase is different.

Coinbase total flow
$1.63B
Coinbase inflow
$888.69M
Coinbase outflow
$745.61M
+$143.08M

Coinbase ran $1.63B across 90 transfers. Inflow: $888M. Outflow: $745M. Net positive by about $143M. The three big BTC deposits are the spine of that number. Multiple someones, given the distinct counterparty addresses, are moving serious Bitcoin onto Coinbase while the broader market is distracted by Binance's stablecoin churn.

Hyperliquid adds another wrinkle. It pulled $307M in total inflow - almost entirely in two $100M USDT chunks from the same wallet - against just $15M in outflow. Three hundred million in dry powder loaded onto a perps venue with barely anything leaving. A trader or fund is staging ammo and hasn't pulled the trigger.

Now the head-to-head: BTC versus ETH.

BTC vs ETH · July 10
BTC total flow$1.15B | 57 transfers
BTC net+$20.70M (inflow bias)
ETH total flow$415.76M | 24 transfers
ETH net−$118.76M (outflow bias)
BTC attracting flow while ETH leaks

BTC pulled a slight net inflow. ETH leaked nearly $119M net - $267M leaving exchanges against $148M arriving. Price tells a similar story: BTC up 1.4% to $63,040, ETH flat at $1,740. The market is rotating toward Bitcoin, and the on-chain tape shows it in real time.

What about the 106-move rapid sequence itself? A burst of that density - 106 large transfers in 24 hours, that $1.30B total - typically signals an institutional desk working a large order in slices or a market-making operation repositioning across venues. The Coinbase concentration points toward the former. Three separate Bitcoin addresses sending to the same exchange within hours, each in the $60 - 65M range, doesn't look like routing noise. It looks like execution.

Whether those coins are about to be sold or staged for something else - custody migration, OTC settlement, collateral posting - the tape doesn't say. What it does tell you is who's getting them. Coinbase is getting almost all of them.

Track this on BTC's exchange-flow page to watch whether those deposits convert to selling pressure or sit cold. The answer changes the tape for tomorrow.
